WAITING for the bus and getting on board
Do not stand on the road or near it.
Waiting for the bus is no time to play. You could cause an accident
When you see the bus coming, you do not have to do anything. The bus will stop for you.
If you did not make it to the stop in time for the bus, another bus will be coming along soon.
Do not run after the bus. It is too easy to get hurt that way.
The bus will open its door once it has come to a complete stop. That's when you come aboard.
The handrails are there to make it safer when you board. Use them!
Step from the curb right onto the steps of the bus.
Do not put your head, arms, papers or anything out of the window
Find a seat and sit down as soon as you’re on the bus
Wait for the bus to completely stop before you get on or off the bus
While on the bus Keep an eye on your bags
Do not put your wallet in your back pocket
If you are a visitor to the area, try to keep your camera and map out of sight as much as possible
For traveling late at night:
-- Check timetables to limit your waiting time.
-- Keep looking around you to make yourself less of a target for thieves
-- Stay in well lit areas in and around bus stops and stations
-- Stay away from the bus wheels at all times
-- Be courteous to the bus driver
-- Your belongings should be close to you, not on the aisles
-- Stay seated unless you are holding onto a handrail.
-- Keep hands, feet and items clear from closing doors.
-- Keep your feet on the floor and do not extend your arms, legs or personal items into the aisle.
